Summary
Ferrari North America, Inc. (Ferrari) is recalling certain 2017 LaFerrari Aperta, 2018-2019 488 GTB, GTC4Lusso T, GTC4Lusso, 488 Spider, 812 Superfast, and 2019 488 Pista vehicles. The fuel vapor separator may crack and allow fuel to leak.
Remedy
Ferrari will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel vapor separator, free of charge. The recall began June 25, 2019. Owners may contact Ferrari customer service at 1-201-816-2668. Ferrari’s number for this recall is 69.

Dear Ferrari Dealer:
Ferrari has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in Model Year 2017, 2018 and 2019 Ferrari 488 GTB, 488 Spider, 488 Pista, 812 Superfast, LaFerrari Aperta, GTC4Lusso and GTC4LussoT vehicles from VIN No. 230242 to 241501.
The vehicles involved are equipped with a fuel vapor separator, which, due to a manufacturing defect, may allow a small fuel leak, potentially causing smoke and/or fire. We want to assure you that our clients’ safety is our priority, and we are committed to correcting this condition in their vehicles.
IMPORTANT
Ferrari will be notifying ALL affected MY 2017, 2018 and 2019 vehicle owners nationwide with two separate letters. The first notice will inform the customer about the recall and let them know that parts are currently unavailable. A second letter will be sent when the parts are available. At that time, the customer can schedule to replace the fuel vapor separator, free of charge.

You must order the necessary part for each vehicle. Upon transmittal of the repair under the normal warranty system, we will reimburse you for the labor necessary to carry out this campaign.
It is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to deliver a new motor vehicle covered by this notification under a sale or lease until the defect is remedied.

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS
Please read all instructions before performing this campaign.
The procedure required for this RECALL CAMPAIGN consists of replacing the Fuel Vapor Separator.
The RECALL CAMPAIGN procedure described herein must be performed precisely as indicated in the following instructions:
- Replacing the Fuel Vapor Separator
488 GTB / 488 Spider
- Remove the fuel vapor separator (as described in paragraph B3.05 “Removing the fuel vapor separator” in the Workshop Manual).
- Take the new vapor separator Code no. 70006133 and install it on the vehicle (as described in paragraph B3.05 “Refitting the fuel vapor separator” in the Workshop Manual).
GTC4Lusso / GTC4Lusso T
- Remove the fuel vapor separator (as described in paragraph B3.06 “Removing the fuel vapor separator” in the Workshop Manual).
- Take the new vapor separator Code no. 70006134 and install it on the vehicle (as described in paragraph B3.06 “Refitting the fuel vapor separator” in the Workshop Manual).
488 Pista
- Remove the fuel vapor separator (as described in paragraph B5.03 “Removing the fuel vapor recovery system separator” in the Workshop Manual).
- Take the new vapor separator Code no. 70006137 and install it on the vehicle (as described in paragraph B5.03 “Refitting the fuel vapor recovery system separator” in the Workshop Manual).
812 Superfast
- Remove the fuel vapor separator (as described in paragraph B3.06 “Removing the fuel vapor separator” in the Workshop Manual).
- Take the new vapor separator Code no. 70006135 and install it on the vehicle (as described in paragraph B3.06 “Refitting the fuel vapor separator” in the Workshop Manual).
LaFerrari Aperta
- Remove the fuel vapor separator (as described in paragraph B3.05 “Replacing the fuel vapor separator” in the Workshop Manual).
- Take the new vapor separator Code no. 70006138 and install it on the vehicle (as described in paragraph B3.05 “Replacing the fuel vapor separator” in the Workshop Manual).
- Repair label and Proof of Correction certificate – Only Valid for California dealers and vehicles registered in California

| Note that all Authorized Ferrari dealers in California must fit an emissions repair label to vehicles that have had this recall completed, and provide the customer with a Proof of Correction certificate (attached). Ferrari North America will ship an initial supply of repair labels to all California dealers. If you are in an Authorized Ferrari dealer outside of California performing the recall on a vehicle registered in California, you can order the following label from FNA parts.
• Part number 079610001 – Emissions Sticker CARB See details on how to fill out the label and certificate below. An example of the label is attached. Print a copy of the attached Proof of Correction certificate to distribute to the customer. |

The vehicles involved are equipped with a Fuel Vapor Separator, which, due to a manufacturing defect, may allow a small fuel leak, potentially causing smoke and/or fire. We want to assure you that your safety is our priority, and we are committed to correcting this condition in your vehicle.
Our records show that you are the owner of a vehicle affected by this recall.
IMPOR TANT- CONTACT YOUR DEALER TODAY
Ferrari will repair your vehicle for free. The repair involves replacing the Fuel Vapor Separator. The replacement part is not yet available, but is expected to become available within 45 days. Please contact your Ferrari dealer at that time and make an appointment to have this repair performed. The time needed for this repair is estimated between 1 and 16 hours, depending on the model.
If you have any questions or concerns that your dealer is unable to resolve, please contact Ferrari North America, Inc. at +1(201) 816-2668. If your Dealer or Ferrari is unable to remedy the defect without charge or within a reasonable amount of time, you may submit a complaint to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1200 New Jersey Ave., S.E., Washington, DC 20590, call the toll-free Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153), or go to https://www.saferc ar.gov.
If you have previously paid for repair to your vehicle for this specific condition prior to receiving this letter, send your original receipts and/or other adequate proof of payment to the following address for reimbursement: Ferrari North Am rica, Inc., 250 Sylvan Ave., Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632 Attention: Warranty Department. Once w receive and verify the required documents, reimbursement will be sent to you within 60 days.
For vehicles registered in California: The California Department of Motor Vehicles, in conjunction with California Air Resources Board, requires the completion of emission recall repairs prior to vehicle registration renewal, per the Registration Renewal/Recall Tie-in Program. Your authorized Ferrari dealer will provide you with a Proof of Correction Certificate after the r call repair has been performed.
